At the Elgiz Museum, a talk titled “The Role of Art in the Global Crisis” was held.

On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, the Elgiz Museum hosted the international VIP guests of Contemporary Istanbul. As part of the program, guided tours were organized for a large group, featuring the museum’s temporary exhibition “Season of Mirage,” the Elgiz Permanent Collection, and the 17th Terrace Exhibition, “Reflections from the Terrace.” The event continued with a brunch and a discussion session.

The talk, held under the title “Art and Artists in the Process of Global Crisis,” was moderated by curator Vittorio Urbani. The speakers included Leyla Alaton, Board Member of Alarko Holding; Alejandra Castro Rioseco, founder of Mia Art Collection Dubai; and ceramic artist Melis Buyruk.

The discussion addressed topics such as protecting artists, combating prejudice, and supporting women in the arts. It emphasized that in times of global crisis, art is not merely an aesthetic production, but also a form of social resilience, liberation, and a defense of human values. The speakers particularly highlighted the importance of strengthening the position of women artists in the art world.

With this special gathering, the Elgiz Museum once again drew attention to the transformative power of art and provided the audience with a dynamic and thought-provoking discussion platform.
