Elgiz Museum's this exhibition is for the memorial of Haşim Nur Gürel, who made great contributions to contemporary art in Turkey as a gallerist, artist, art writer, art consultant and curator between 2010 and 2022. He was also a member of the Museum's Board of Directors and Advisory Board. The exhibiton: "In Memory of Haşim Nur Gürel: Deep Dreams in Shallow Waters" can be seen between 1st of November to 17 of february.
The retrospective exhibition, curated by Billur Tansel, offers a journey full of surprises and a colourful observation of the development process of the artist's understanding of art and his mysterious world with a selection of his works consisting of painting, ceramics, sculpture and installation, which he produced with the same passion and different techniques. From his first abstract exhibition at Robert College at the age of 17 until the last period of his life all his works are presented in this exhibition. Despite his calm, quiet, wise and modest stance, the changing, vibrant, rich colours, textures and mysteries of his inner world are revealed through his paintings.
